Spring: March to May
Spring is arguably the finest time to visit. The countryside blooms, temperatures are comfortable across most regions, and the desert is pleasantly warm. It is ideal for combining the cities, the mountains, and the Sahara in a single trip.
Summer: June to August
Summer brings intense heat to Marrakech and the interior, though the Atlantic coast stays refreshingly mild. If you travel in summer, favour Essaouira and the coast, and reserve desert excursions for early morning and evening.
- Coastal Essaouira and Casablanca for cool breezes
- High Atlas for hiking in the heat
- Avoid midday sightseeing in the interior
Autumn: September to November
Autumn rivals spring for comfort. The fierce summer heat fades, the light turns golden, and it is an excellent window for desert tours and long road journeys through the south.
Winter: December to February
Winter is mild and sunny in the cities by day, though desert and mountain nights turn cold. It is a quieter, atmospheric season, and the snow-capped Atlas peaks make a stunning backdrop to Marrakech.
